Population: 947

Founded: 1805 by Ebenezer and Isadora Mather. The unusual star shape to the streets is in honor of Isadora. Ebenezer called her his "guiding star".

Points of Interest:
The 192 foot granite spire which gave the town its name; swimming, boating and fishing at Deep Lake; the bronze statue of Isadora Mather on the town "square".
